New Zealand Vacation
Monday, February 5:
Geraldine - Christchurch
|
It was warmer this night. We accepted invitations for morning tea from Basil and Elizabeth, and departed after goodbyes all round.
We spent most of the day on a scenic route to Christchurch, the biggest city in the South Island. We arrived at the home of Davy and Libby Stuart. Davy makes some really beautiful mandolins and mandolas, and is sort of the general folk guru of the town. They were most gracious to put us up for a couple of days while we saw the sights. He is apparently a good player, too, but we never did get a chance to play together. This was my first access to the internet of the trip, and I used the opportunity to send the script of the skit, which I had completed over the past week and a half, back to AJ and George. I am proud to say that I refrained from looking at my e-mail.
